“I have a disgustingly large collection of bib shorts accrued over the years, and the Kostüme bib shorts trump all of them. They're next-level comfortable. 10/10." - Jo Burt, Road.cc (Comfort Break Shorts Review)

THE BESt, but MORE

How do you improve on perfection?

The problem with 10/10 reviews and Product of the Year awards is that, when it comes to making a new version, there is a real risk of backward steps.

Our Comfort Break Bib Short is minimalist by design, so how do you add more features without losing the product ethos?

We trialled multiple pocket fabrics and configurations, vented inners, zips, pockets within pockets, rear pockets. But nothing matched our original concept - 'Keep It Simple Stupid'. There's a good reason it's a well-worn acronym.

Two perfectly-positioned leg pockets with laser-welded entry points, minimal stitching, and plenty of carrying capacity. Even fully loaded, we guarantee you will barely notice the difference.

And with no load, you'll hardly notice the pockets are there at all. The best of both worlds.

SUITS YOU

It's not just our incredible fabrics getting people talking. Our reverse-printed straps have also caused a stir. Have we accidentally sewn them on the wrong way?

No. We haven't. Mind you, that hasn't stopped at least one negative review on Trustpilot. You can't please everyone!

As a counter to our expressive artist editions, our own-brand products are more visually subtle, designed to be worn everywhere, with anything.

Of course, subtle can still be fun. And so, like the business suit with the playful lining, we print the inside the straps for a pop of colour only you can see. Our perforated elastic gives others a hint at what's inside, but without clashing with your outer layers.

Our Spring '25 Cargo Bib batch takes inspiration not only from the flowers bursting into life all around, but also one of our favourite of the spring classics - The Tour of Flanders. The results are unique (literally, since every strap is slightly different). There are even rumours of a matching jersey coming soon...

As part of product testing, a production sample was worn on the inaugural Bristol Glasgow Bristol, covering over 1,600km and 25,000m of elevation both on and off road in less than 90 hours.

The feedback was direct and to the point (as it tends to be in the middle of gruelling events like BGB): ‘Simplest way to put it: the best shorts I have ever worn.’

You’ll feel the same benefits whether you’re traversing cities, counties or countries.

The key to any bib short is the chamois, and our exclusive Italian-made pad features a 4-layer construction combining three different types of memory foam, with a permanent nano-level aloe-infused microfibre top surface designed to be used without chamois cream.

Trying is believing. We think it’s a game changer for most riders.

The feedback was direct and to the point: ‘Simplest way to put it: the best shorts I have ever worn.’ We couldn’t have written it better ourselves. Of course, you’ll feel the exact same benefits whether you’re traversing cities, counties or countries.

Yes, we were sceptical at first too, but we truly believe it’s a game changer for most riders. A chamois is designed to function as a second skin, not a slippery mess.

LESS IS MORE

But it's arguably our exclusive recycled main fabric that's both the star and (literally) the supporting act.

Weightier and more densely woven than the typical bib short fabric, with a luxuriously silky finish and super soft hand feel that will make you say 'wow' out loud the first time you try them on, it has a previously unseen balance of stretch and compression that redefines bib short comfort and performance, especially at this price point.

Veteran road.cc reviewer Jo Burt was bold enough to state our bibs were 'the nicest thing I've ever put next to my skin' in his 10/10 review.

And our customers seem to agree.

Finished with raw-cut leg hems and custom-printed grippers (to minimise fabric waste) they feel both ultra-supportive and yet barely there.

NATURE CALLS

Whatever distance you are riding, the nature break is an eternal issue for almost every cyclist.

Our swimsuit-inspired racer-back strap design attaches to the rear of the short in such a way that allows it to be simply pulled down. No need to remove your top layers, and no clips, zips or yoga skills required.

The wide, super-stretchy perforated straps keep everything perfectly in place without overheating, and we guarantee they'll never go baggy.

They were also awarded overall Editor's Choice in the 2023/24 Road.cc awards, as well as in the Cyclist Magazine 2024 Gear of the Year awards.

“The comfort and support they provided actually exceeded some of the more expensive, premium brands I’ve tested in the past." - Rouleur Magazine Comfort Break Bib review

One of the best pieces of advice in cycling is never skimp on the contact points, and the most important of these is your bottom.

We tested every single chamois on the market, and one stood head, shoulders (and bottom) ahead of the others.

Italian-made, and featuring a 4-layer construction combining three types of memory foam, our chamois features a unique aloe-infused microfibre top surface designed to be used without chamois cream. Yes, you read that right.

So confident were we of its all-day performance that we put it to scientific test against 5 of the market leading brands. (You can likely guess the names.)

During a fascinating afternoon with bike fit experts Pedalling Perfection, we used the incredible gebioMized pressure sensing software to directly compare the performance of each chamois using the same control rider and setup.

Our results were far and away the best of the group, with near perfect distribution and no hotspots. Our plan is to repeat the test 'double-blind' as part of a more in-depth feature, coming soon.
